The salads contain diced onions that are the subject of a Food and Drug Administration (FDA) recall due to possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination, the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced today. The product subject to recall is: 14.5-oz trays of "TRADER JOE'S BBQ CHICKEN SALAD." The product subject to recall bears the establishment number "P-11079" inside the USDA mark of inspection. Each package also has a sticker with use-by dates through July 30, 2012. The product was produced between July 20, 2012, and July 24, 2012, and was distributed to retail establishments in Arizona, New Mexico, Southern California, Southern Nevada and Texas. Gills Onions Voluntarily Recalls Diced and Slivered Red and Yellow Onions, and Diced Onion and Celery Mix Because of Possible Health Risk By FoodSafety.gov Gills Onions, LLC of Oxnard, CA is initiating a voluntary recall of a single day’s production of diced and slivered red and yellow onions and diced celery and onion mix because they may be contaminated by Listeria monocytogenes. No carton Romaine or bagged Romaine products are affected, officials say. By Samantha Tata, NBC 4 KNBC Nearly two dozen cases of bulk Romaine Lettuce sold at Vons and Pavilions stores in California and Nevada are being recalled due to potential Salmonella contamination, according to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Pacific International Marketing, also known as Pacific, issued a voluntary recall on July 6 recalling 19 cases of the lettuce sold in bulk produce bins from July 2 through July 4. The lettuce heads are banded with a red twist tie marked “Safeway” and were distributed in bulk with the code 12EASROM182 on the RPC code.
